That life is worth nothing would then be a dramatic and terrible topic exemplified by the tradition of Mexican culture. Gonzalo Lebrija tries to express these feelings through purely allegorical symbols. Some of them can be more explicit, and —interpreted in the light of these traditions— even bitter. This applies to the photograph of the cowboy on his horse, surrounded by a rope in motion, which Gonzalo Lebrija do not hesitates to entitle “Black Hole”, as if a terrible centripetal force devours everything within this tradition of blood and celebration, of vacuous heroism and disregard for life.
